As part of the Federal ban on single-use items, all Trees’ locations will not provide plastic bags on “to-go” orders. Our stores will have an optional paper bag, made out of 40% recycled material and 100% recyclable, and reusable bags available for purchase.
The By-Law extends to disposable cups, straws and plastic cutlery. Reinforced by the Government of British Columbia, the by-law also states that:
- There is a minimum $0.25 fee for each disposable cup (to-go cups).
- There are fees for paper (minimum $0.15) and new reusable shopping bags.
